John Makepeace Bennett (1921 - 2010)

John M. Bennett was an Electrical & Electronic Engineer. He studied at the University of Queensland, graduating BSc and BE. He served in the RAAF between 1942 and 1946, He then gained a PhD from Cambridge University, specialising in Computers, working for Ferranti Ltd in England.

Returning to Australia he lectured at the University of Sydney, acted as a consultant engineer, eventually Emeritus Professor at the University of Sydney in Computer Science. He was a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia
